The advantage of ebay is selling to a global market.
The disadvantage of ebay is the opportunity to be defrauded by the global market.
The fee structure isn't my problem - it's the managed payment system they just instituted. In order to sell there now, have to link to a checking acct, and ebay takes fees automatically before everything else. No thanks.
