Not surprised. I need to check invoices but when I bought the 25mm TdF tires a year ago, I seem to recall it was a great price. Perhaps not.

Yeah, I get it. Hey, someone recently posted something about 700x19mm tires and for a moment, I was intrigued! I'd be surprised it I could fit 32mm on any bike I own, and dumbfounded if 38mm fit. So, for now, 28mm max -- more n that later.

Most places I ride at pretty smooth. The exception is the nearby USDA research center, a haven for cyclists for 50+ years, including me. Alas, some roads are so rough that no tire would give you a comfortable ride. Just check your headset once you get home.
