After the tsunami in Japan I blew up the head in my WRX and went shopping for another. The one I ultimately bought was shipped on the last boat that left Fuji before the tsunami. While I was shopping many dealerships just told me they couldn’t get a car. A couple of dealerships had cars on that ship and were willing to sell it to me under normal prices once it arrived. Only one dealership (Santa Rosa) tried to gouge me. That guy not only wanted a $2000 mark up over MSRP on the car he had in stock but as we waited he kept emailing me that the other offers were fake. I’m sure he eventually found a sucker.
