John, I take indomethacin (NSAID) irregularly when needed when my knee blows up and it does wonders for my arthritis or back trouble but that is a pleasant side effect of dealing with the knee. I know for me and others taking a NSAID on an "as needed" basis they work best if they are used at the first sign of pain and that if wait to make sure I really need it it does not work as well. So I gotta believe taking it prophylactically is a good plan in your case.

Oh, and thanks for the tip on the guidonnet levers.
