I took the tire off, clean it up, let it dry, then dropped some super glue around the plugs, inside and outside the tire and let it setup for a couple of days. Remounted, added in the sealant, and I have about 2k miles on those tires now and have not had any problems with the plug. I was a little nervous the first couple of rides, so I stayed close to home in case I had to walk back, but I don't even think about it now, like it never happened.
Rode four miles home with a roofing nail in my GP500 tubeless. Only lost 5 lbs. Like you, pulled the nail at home but it did fix with a plug and was good another 3000 miles. The superglue trick is a good one. Will try that next time.
