True. There it is the culture. No one is offended by it. I had the exact same experience around the draft. Well almost. I had a 2S with a low number, and the following year high enough that I went 1A.
I drew 169 in the last year of the draft and was quite relieved when Nixon finally ended the war. My whole family, everyone I knew, were anti-war and it was strange when I ended up in uniform with a TS clearance, detailed to the very belly of the GWB administration beast after 9/11.
