Well, a steady burn over the summer will be the perfect setup for a overwhelming wave in the Fall. Here's hoping the experts are wrong and that our surveillance is good. I am less worried about the big hotspots (NYC, DC, Boston) from this Spring in this respect.
I'm thinking it isn't weather that makes viral illnesses like flu seasonal, flaring up in the fall, but rather back-to-school. There is nothing that can spread a virus like a school child.
