Don't knock a product because of its price. Knock it because of its quality. Kenda's are usually great value. I'm be ridden then for years without problems.
Don't know the answer to your original question, but I have answered it for myself. My answer was the Schwalbe Marathon Supreme 42-406. I stocked up with four pairs before it was discontinued a few years back.
