Not so much when you set it up to keep you around LT1 for a couple of hours while you listen to a great novel and watch scenery, which is what I plan to do a lot of this winter when I can't get outside. I also find it hard to hold a steady power level for intervals. With the erg, I can set it and forget it and know I got the workout I planned.
Probably so. I have bad memories of death spiral on erg mode doing some stupid structured workouts that ended up in misery.
