Don't know what Moviestar were thinking with Lopez, sounds like he was told not to chase. I suppose if he had dragged Bernal back with him that could've been a problem.

Stage 19 was a good day for the Americans - Craddock and Simmons.

Yes Lopez was told not to chase and quit out of anger. See post in the Movistar thread. But so what if he had brought back Bernal? Mas had more than 2 minute on Bernal going into the stage. Were they concerned that if Lopez brought back Bernal, that Bernal (+Yates?) would then be able to attack and take 2 minutes from Mas and Lopez? If (and it's a big if) Lopez made it back up the GC group, then all they had to do was mark Bernal to maintain their 2 podium spots.
