Thank you. He would have been 84 this year (that's at least a 1-speed difference!). My love of bikes came from him. The 1977 Nishiki ONP I have was his daily commuter and weekend fun machine - he loved that bike. He was never a racer himself, but taught me about Le Tour, the cobbles of Roubaix, Eddy, Bernard, and we both enjoyed following the daily results of LeMond in July. He got to see me race MTBs, but left this world before he got to see me race and win on the road. Those two homemade chain whips are just a couple of his tools that I still regularly use.
