Howdy folks!
I am from Dallas, Texas , and started riding a bicycle when I lived in Amsterdam in 2010-2011. I bought a bike there and enjoyed the bike lanes and amazing accessibility for cyclists. I was young and didn't know a lot about bikes, and was focused on art school.
Now I'm in Texas. Despite this city not being very bike-friendly, I started riding again and decided I want to restore my dutch bike. I mostly want to restore it because of its sentimental value. When I bought it, it was already a little beat up. Now you can imagine it's a little more beat up. That makes it more of a fun challenge to fix up. I'm curious to hear if there are other cyclists here who like restoring older bikes in this forum.
I joined this forum because I am currently learning everything I can about bikes! I may buy a cross-over type of bike so I can go riding with my boyfriend on and off-road. I'm open to suggestions on affordable bikes and places to learn the basics of bike maintenance and restoration.
Glad to be here,
Coraco
