It goes from one side of the trail to the other so you never know if it's safe to pass. Thankfully the guy slows up or stops when he sees others, and evidently it wears him out too much to ride more than once or twice a year. <grin>
Sure it wasn't a Trikke? Street Striders generally go straight. Trikke propulsion requires carving back and forth:
