Out on one of my usual routes to Independence. Lot of cyclists out on the road today, many sporting aero setups, because Salem, Oregon is hosting
Ironman 70.3 this Sunday. Rode along with the road reconnaissance crew for a while, which must have been a funny sight: 50-something guy on '80s Peugeot touring bike keeping pace with four 20-somethings on their carbon Canyons. One of them said to me "Man, that's a classical bike, you don't need no stinkin' carbon!"
