I had to look that up... so are you talking Rommelspargel (used to hinder gliders at various landing fields, basically just vertical poles with barb wire strung between) or Hemmbalken, which is a big log supported at one end by three smaller logs, which was an atlantic beach defense designed to impede landing craft.
