This thread ... lots of pining over long-gone youth. I started buying 'records' for myself in '62, age 11, with Bob Dylan's self-titled first album. The other two standouts in memory for me:
Meet the Beatles, 1964 (we got the Brit. Parlophone issue up here), and the Mothers'
Freak Out ('66).
