I was breaking sticks in half with my Schwinn Caliente, just to test it out. Just the inertia of a spinning rear wheel was enough on the workstand. Mine had a fixed 5 speed cluster, no clutch.
I wonder if the clutch is there but seized up over time.
I guess it's worth checking these bikes out to make sure they still work right. that would be an inconvenient place for a little rust or something.
