I would rather use Rivnuts than any ugly cumbersome clamp any day. Rivnuts when installed correctly work great. Ive used them on many pieces of equipment without issues,and yes, Even on a couple of bike frames.
Ive brazed on a few water bottle bosses when the frame is going to be completely repainted, if it is not ,,Rivnuts are completely fine to use.
