woke up early (for me) but literally laid around for two hours until i got slightly motivated. left the house around 12:15pm, rode thru balboa park and old town.
grabbed a coaster ticket but had 45 mins to kill. hit the round table pizza buffet then rolled back to the station and took the coaster to encinitas. casual ride from there
back home. hot day inland but coolish on the coast with the fog. pavement on the 101/coast highway through dtown encinitas really beat up with all the rain this year
so be extra careful for that half-mile stretch. rode the newish bike path from sorrento valley up to genesee and then took the really new link/bridge
from genesee onto the ucsd campus. they did a great job with that pathway. eventually linked up with the rose canyon bike path. the new one is just completed/paved
on the northern half but still closed...looks like they just need to seal it. that 5 fwy shoulder bike path segment may get taken down in the next week or two. rode thru
old town and balboa park again, then home.
