First, this is something she started doing a couple months ago. She hops up on the little piano bench next to my chair and turns her back to me, demanding scritches.
If I stop, she paws at the arm of the chair, which we call "Pennying", after Sheldon Cooper's habit of knocking on Penny's door in a particular way -
*knock knock knock* "Penny!", *knock knock knock* "Penny!", *knock knock knock* "Penny!" - on Big Bang Theory, because she always paws 3 times, then waits for a response, then paws again...
