I'll have to admit to doing it on a few bikes over the years and seeing it done on just as many. I didn't lose any sleep either.
But now that I know that some folks like the Flight Deck and look for replacement parts, I'm not inclined to cut the caps off the wires.
I'll post it in a day or two in the C & V sticky thread "ISO and for trade thread part 5" to see if I can get the standard caps in trade.
