Just try and get a permit for a 500+ rider event in California using public roads or facilities and it will become clear as to the reasons why. Events that "fly under the radar" can and do happen but often a great risk of liability for the organizer due to lack of insurance or permits. It's no problem for the rider who only has to show up and ride!
Yep, not even sure this will "fly under the radar", its a pretty big deal and target at the end of the day.
Really hope they pull it off, even with say 50 riders, they may get in some kind of trouble.
Again, so jealous.
