Nah, we're just moving to the guestroom till it gets fixed. The ailing unit only cools our room and bath.
We did have AC when I was a ute (not savages like
rjones28 ), but to use it less (save $$$) my parents sometimes ran a window fan in the morning/evening when it was cooler outside than inside. It helped, somewhat.
