All that is needed to convert any bike from a 2/3x is removing the front derailleur and changing the chainrings on the crankset to a single narrow/wide style chainring.

Maybe install a chain catcher. Other than the likely need to resize the chain, there's really not much to it.

The biggest decision you'll have to make is what front chainring size you want to run. 42T is a popular choice, but it depends on what sort of terrain you're riding and what range of cogs you have in the back.
