You could just never shift the front and its effectively a 1x.
But yeah, if you want a more 'real' 1x then you could buy a new crank and 1x ring then slap that on and shorten the chain.
You will still have the left shifter with paddles that do nothing. There is no Claris 1x left brake lever to use so it looks cleaner.
