I got a deal at my local bike store for a 48 teeth Aluminium chainring, 170cm cranks, and a bottom bracket for 150$.
All their parts are from their own Brand and so far I've only heard good things about them although 150$ sounds pretty expensive to me.
Is it worth it to pay that much money or should I look online for cheaper parts.

You can get a Shimano Acera crankset and Shimano BB for $45.
They want to charge $150 for what is likely lesser quality than Shimano's CHEAPEST crankset and BB.
They are taking advantage of you, without a doubt.
You can buy the tools needed for installation, AND better parts for less than $100. Just take your time and make sure you're not cross-threading when installing your BB.
Or, find a shop that is trustworthy. Either way, I'd tell them to "get bent".
* If it's a single speed that you need, expect to pay $30-40 more for a Shimano or Sram crankset. Still a better deal and better quality than some no-name eBay stuff though.
