...I usually start out with the basic triangle, which is bar to saddle, saddle to pedal (at the bottom of the stroke), and fine tune it from there. The fine tuning usually incudes saddle tilt, and some way of adjusting forward and aft position, relative to the crank spindle. But it varies from saddle to saddle, and bike to bike. I did manage to collect a milk crate full of decent stems in various reach lengths, which helps a lot to adjust for variation in top tube lengths. I'm old enough that bar and saddle level is about right for me, and I don't need to go aero to impress the fans.
