Auld Yins RR (8/27) finished 10th of 60ish.
Open 40+ Vets (Masters) race and then last one of the Scottish Vets series. Somehow I was in 2nd place for the 5 race series. Race mostly stayed together and then the selection was made over a 5 minute climb that's probably 40 miles into a 55 mile race.
The races I've done have been in the 40-50 mile range this year, so I was feeling good and made a group of 12 over the top. Problem is that after that I was in the badlands of over 2 hours of racing. It was a minor victory to cling on the group and salvage 10th. The winner jumped with probably 2 km to go. Gutsy move and he stuck it.
I managed to hang to 2nd in the series and got a cool engraved flask for my trouble. 3 more races to try and get my Cat 2.
