Nope, to be honest not the case. I'm running a couple of them without this problem. When you mount them be sure to butt the inside clamp piece solid against the body. Then the outer bolt is torqued down to hold the handlebar into place. Many folks try to even out the tension on the two clamp bolt which then does lead to problems like you're saying.
