Yeah my ride this morning was under an orange glow. Didn't smell the smoke but there were small specks of ash here and there. I was wondering why my bike had all these spots (roof rack,freeway) and just thought it was freeway type of debris. Then when I was preparing for my ride I saw a few landing on my car. Funny thing is Purple Air was still green when I started at around 8. At least I got a ride in.
I remember some days when we didn't have bad air at ground level but had significant ash fall. For example the Red Sky Day last September - AQI at ground level was still green in San Mateo, but there was a LOT of ash falling.
Since I ride later in the day, and all of Woodside and Portola Valley is >100, I guess it's a good thing I didn't cancel Zwift!
