Agreed. We had both sunny and rainy days on the GAP and on the C&O. Huge difference. GAP grit seems almost worse when dry but I'd take it over the C&O surface any day...especially when wet. And wet or dry those roots and rocks on the C&O jar you to the core. Already looking at Katy trail for next multi-day tour. Similar surface to GAP it seems.
