Yes, a crown attached to a retainer that snaps in place.
A small percentage of patients have complications, according to my dentist. Mine caused a root canal in the tooth next to it, and some gum loss. Years later they found that the doc had left some cement that he didn't clean off, and they had to replace the abutment and crown. Insurance didn't cover any of it so it was about $7K.
