The less tire pressure the more cushion you get.

What is your weight?
What size of tires do you have on your bike?
Tubes or Tubeless?

You really need just a bit more pressure than what is needed to keep the tires from bottoming out on bumps, although there may be a pressure/energy curve, so too low pressure and it takes power, and too much, and it also robs power.
