I have a Garmin Fenix 5, the model from a few years ago. I use it as a bike computer. I gives me heart rate, elevation, and GPS track data. I also use it for hikes. None of these things are that important unless you are serious about training. GPS tracking you can do just as well with a phone. Direction finding, the phone is vastly superior. For me it's just another fun gadget. If you have the spare cash to burn, go for it. Otherwise it's not a big deal.
