I certainly wasn't the model of efficiency on this one!

I referred to an RJ The Bike Guy video that covered most of it pretty well. He was working on SRT600 shifters, and mine are SRT400. The cable routing is the same, but the cover comes off differently on these two models, and it took me a bit to noodle it out. I'm always at least a little bit uncomfortable taking apart assemblies that involve plastic components that "snap" together, but these came apart and went together fairly smoothly.

A dealer technical manual from 1999 had some recommendations for lubrication.

I rode the bike today, and I'm happy with the results.
