I think what Bosch has in mind is that if you add the cadence, speed etc. ANT+ sensors to the Garmin, they might not be available to the Bosch unit. I don't know if this is true (i.e., that a Garmin would "hog" the device connection), having never tried it, but I think that is what the Bosch head unit is warning against. Ideally, it would be nice if the user could use both simultaneously.
ANT+ is many to many but BT is one to one. Or at least has historically been. I agree with @
Steve B. that it shouldn't be an issue. I've seen as it of cases where computers do things people weren't expecting. And I've also seen overly cautious people trying to avoid having to support more than they're capable of.
