Not certain what's keeping the OP from just connecting a cable to it and see what it does. If the USB port isn't complying with the voltage and other standards set forth for USB plugs, then they'd be leaving themselves open for litigation. Or they'd have a really big cautionary label stuck next to it. So just find a cable with the correct connectors on both ends and see if the Garmin works or not, as desired.
I checked every type of USB cable/plug I have around here,
I have every type/kind, BUT, the Mini type plug, have ordered one, and will test when it gets here.
