That seems expected. Short wear life is basically a selling point for that tire, since it implies all-out optimization for suppleness. It's true that a bit of extra tread thickness at the centerline will add only a very marginal amount of weight and rolling resistance... but that sort of compromise isn't in the spirit of the Corsa Speed.
