Tom, my experience of comparing an early 70s Super Course, Gran Sport, and International is that the International rides the best by far, mostly because it's by far the lightest. I don't know how the geometries compare. I have an early 70s Grand Sports (yes, that's what it says on the top tube) frameset, but haven't figured out how to build it up. By the late 70s, the Competition GS had much racier geometry than in the earlier years.
