The first thing to do if you want to go street riding is get on your bike and ride around. Go out to the skatepark and meet people, or find a 'spot' and go session it and meet people. Street riding isn't about tricks or who's better at riding. It's about riding around with your buds, if you can't pull tricks no one is going to give two ****s, they may rag on you, but when you spin a 180 or 3 off a curb those are the same dudes that watched you not be able to bunny hop. Or even the first time they see you hop out a curb cut the same dude that's throwing 180 bars will be like that was tight.

everyone has to start some where and that place is just cruising around hopping on and off **** and getting as comfortable as you can on your bike.

first thing to do is just go cruise around, carve around the skatepark and meet some people.
