Probably so. Plus summer light is longer up here and there's no sun in the other seasons. Helmet mirror's better IMO. Being able to scan and adjust field of view is everything. Worth a try. That said, I'm sure you're right about that first-check.

When I'm hiking, I'm forever turning my head a little to see behind me but oops, no mirror! I wear glasses now, so a glasses mirror is tempting, just for that.
