Watch out for ticks, they seem to like the fallen leaves. Two days in a row I've found one on me. So small, about the size of a pin head, easy to miss. I'm super vigilant this time of the year, they're always in the leaves.
Actually you have less to worry about since you don't live in the Northeast or quasi-north.
