i like the variety; there's a few segments i do with a bunch of lights and the timing / acceleration / luck is just part of the game. a different kind of training than the long light-free ones of course, and maybe my perception is skewed by the fact that our lights are very, very short. biking in suburban areas with 30+ second traffic cycles is pretty infuriating for me, so i hear you.
