Ah, absolute nonsense. Thiopentone was a commonly used induction agent for general anaesthesia. If you had an operation in the 80s or earlier you almost certainly had it. Propofol has replaced it, but it’s still in the cabinet for rapid sequence inductions.
Vecuronium, the paralysis drug, is still in widespread use. It lasts a long time, so people err towards rocuronium, but they’re the same drug essentially.
Ok, potassium chloride isn’t given routinely as a bolus, but the person is well and truly asleep when it’s given.
Thiopentone is a horrible drug if given into an artery or if the cannula has tissued and into the subcutaneous tissue, but this is exceedingly rare and just affects the arm.
If the drip is in and flushing well (very easy to check) lethal injection is definitely the way to go. As I’ve said it’s literally a general anaesthetic.
