The headline story is of particular note: Sudbury has awarded the construction contract to extend the BFRT from the current southern terminus in Concord to (what would become) the MCRT junction. That's about 5 more miles of trail. It seems Sudbury residents have a different take on rail trails than those of Bedford...

I dream of the MM connecting to the BFRT and that to the MCRT, and the MCRT being completed eastward to the existing Fitchburg Cutoff and the MM at Alewife. It's not too bad getting from the MM (or rather, the Reformatory Trail at Lowell Rd) to the BFRT via streets, so even without the MM extension, a mostly rail trail version of that loop could exist someday.
