Tuesday afternoon we were headed for a grayscale sunset. It was still too bright to be gloomy, but no pink would come of it.


I took the Rawland Nordavinden out in the silver-gray weather, cool but not cold by comparison to recent mornings. The lively frame, low-trail geometry, and supple 32mm tires danced over the pavement, particularly over the root heaves.


The Mile 4.0 Cairn Builders have rocks in their rookery, or rooks in their rockery.
