- software: Dashware by ChaseCam. if you look hard, you can find it for $150. I bought it from Gorman Motorsports, but their price may have changed
- save your data as a .csv file and the software will read it
- i've now found the best and quickest way to format the data from a Garmin is to open it in Golden Cheetah, then save as .csv. GC doesn't alter the underlying data (besides imperial conversion) and saves it in neat columns
- if you have an srm or powertap you will have a .csv file by default
- you can manipulate the data and do all kinds of funky calculations in excel, but you have to save the output as .csv
