Used to.* Since we closed our borders to all but a few of our citizens, passenger flights between the US and NZ have all but stopped. I guess the USPS can't afford or doesn't want to hire or buy it's own planes.


*I believe USPS was just responsible for getting mail on the plane to the main inwards NZ distribution centre and NZ Post was actually responsible for delivery within NZ, with reciprocal arrangements for mail going to the US. There was probably money changing hands as well to cover each postal service performing the obligation of the other to deliver the mail.
