I ride with both a Varia radar unit and a helmet mounted mirror. I prefer the helmet mount because I can just move my head a bit to see what is behind in various riding positions (hoods, drops.) Radar lets me know something is coming, but doesn't tell you if it's going to hit you. When I get a radar notification, I check the mirror to make certain the driver is going to pass safely.
THAT is the helmet mirror to have. It does not vibrate and the optics are crystal clear with a huge field of view. Many of the other helmet mirrors have flexible mounts and are very small and/or have reflecting surfaces made from wavy plastic.
