I'm sure age has something to do with it, but I wouldn't place too much stock in that. I just turned 40 this year and I'm stronger than I've ever been. I firmly believe I can be stronger next year. Last year I raced at 146~148 lbs all year long. This year I've been in the 149~152 range due to adding muscle, upper body and lower.

I think you know what you need to do...train a bit more to get your weight down. Perhaps focus on a slightly shorter season if time doesn't allow for more training hours.

Don't put too much into the age thing.
